The Fire & Burn Foundation was originally formed as an affiliate of the Burn Institute, based in San Diego and operated under the name, Burn Institute-Inland Empire (BI-IE). Since 2002, the Foundation has been serving the communities of Riverside and San Bernardino County. 

In 2013, the Foundation evolved into a fully independent local nonprofit and expanded into Mono and Inyo counties. The Fire & Burn Foundation is the only local full-service agency providing burn survivor support and burn prevention education to our communities.

The Fire & Burn Foundation is a non-profit health agency dedicated to reducing burn injuries and deaths through fire and burn prevention education, burn survivor support programs, and the funding of burn care research and treatment.
